RAZVAN MITOIU

Born in communist Romania, in 1981, he started to draw before he started to walk. Everybody then, said: "He's gonna be a great Art Director, (when that job will be available in our country) !". But he wanted to be a doctor. A vet. Helping animals in Africa or anywhere he would be needed. That plan failed with a chemistry exam. After the high school of arts and a Graphic artist diploma he ended up in a College of the Arts, as an Art Pedagogy student.  He got that diploma too.

Meanwhile and before that, he sold paintings and he worked as set designer (scenographer) and AD for a TV station, sound technician, (on set) camera operator, bathroom furniture designer, photographer etc.

First job in advertising happened 13 years ago. He started in an industrial clients orientated ad agency. Worked on some huge corporate clients that had ID books with over 150 pages. He was amazed by the complexity of this industry.  In short time the Art Director job stuck. He was happy and very into it. Group Agencies like DDB, BBDO, JWT and some indie ones, worked with him as Copy, Art, senior Art, special Art, Creative Director, Photographer, Illustrator, Director and some more. He had fun, they had more. Or the other way around. Or both.

Clients like Lego, Pepsi, Lipton, Jacobs, Tuborg, Prigat, Bayer Aspirin, Wikipedia, Zoo Bratislava, CEZ, Peugeot, Seat, E-on, Greenpeace, Bang and Olufsen, Adidas, Magic FM, Kiss radio, Alpha Bank, Volksbank, Raiffeisen bank, Agrana, Romstal, Lindab, Energy Holding, Carturesti books store, Brloh game shop, Melos Etos music festival, Jurnalul National, Lukoil, Intermarché, Provident, 7days and many more, loved him too. He is lovable and that's a fact. He can create anything from everything. Like a super power. You know what I mean. Hopefully.

Some of these brands inspired him so much, that he pushed the work into the ad festival awards realm. He collected gold, silver and bronze awards in Golden Drum, Epica, Piaf, Cannes Lions, Effie Romania and Slovakia.

Currently, he is a freelance creative consulting for some advertising agencies in Bucharest.

Razvan is also the owner and curator of Hellboy Museum, (probably) the largest Hellboy collection in the world (with over 300 items and movie props). He also collects old comics and toys. He's a cinemaniac and has stage director and photo studies. Owns around 100 t-shirts with superheroes, horror and hand made designs. Has some tattoos, earrings, a braided beard and long hair (growing since 1997).
